What are the risks of options trading?
Options can be used for income generation or risk management, but each strategy comes with tradeoffs. For covered calls, if the underlying stock rises sharply above the strike, the seller may miss out on gains above that price. For cash-secured puts, if the underlying falls significantly below the strike, the seller is obligated to purchase shares at a price above market value.
